Media Room

A Cinema Experience Built Into Your Home

Every media room we design starts with acoustics and sightlines, not just gear. Screen size and seating distance are calculated to professional viewing-angle standards, surround sound is calibrated to the room, and lighting is engineered to disappear the moment the movie starts. The result is a space that feels, sounds, and performs like a true theater.

What Drives the Cost of a Home Theater

The room itself. A dedicated room with no windows is cheaper to treat acoustically than a great room with a wall of glass. If we are working around existing architecture, more of the budget goes to compensating for it.

Projector versus large-format display. A 98-inch TV in a room with ambient light often beats a mid-range projector. A true theater with controlled light is where projection earns its cost.

Acoustic treatment. The least visible line item and the one that most affects how the room actually sounds. Bass traps and absorption panels are where a good room separates from an expensive pile of gear.

Seating and sightlines. Riser platforms, wiring for powered seating, and the calculations that keep every seat within the correct viewing angle.

Dedicated Theater or Media Lounge?

A dedicated theater is a single-purpose room: controlled light, tiered seating, projection. Best performance, but the room does one job.

A media lounge stays a living space — the technology serves film, sport, and gaming without dominating the room. Most of our Hunt Country and Palm Beach clients choose this, and it is the harder of the two to do well because everything must disappear when it is off.

Common Questions

How long does a media room take?
Typically three to eight weeks depending on construction, longer if acoustic treatment or millwork is involved.

Can you work with our architect or builder?
Yes, and earlier is better. Involving us at framing means conduit, wiring, and speaker placement get built in rather than retrofitted.

Will it work with the rest of the house?
Every media room we install integrates with Control4 so lighting, shades, and audio respond to one command.
