Art Lighting

Illuminate Your Art the Way It Was Meant to Be Seen

Metamorphosis Environments brings gallery-quality lighting design into your home. We layer accent, wall-wash, and picture lighting with high-CRI (95+), low-heat LED fixtures that render true color and won’t fade your collection over time. Every fixture is dimmable and integrated with your whole-home automation system, so you can recall the perfect scene for any piece, any time of day, with a single tap.

What Drives the Cost of Art Lighting

Fixture type. Recessed adjustable fixtures, framing projectors, and picture lights differ substantially in price and effect.

Ceiling access. Recessed fixtures in a finished ceiling mean drywall work and repair.

Colour quality. High-CRI fixtures render pigment accurately. Cheap LEDs shift colour and make paintings look wrong — this is the specification that matters most and the one most often skipped.

Control. Dimming, scenes, and integration so lighting changes with time of day.

Framing Projectors and Why They Cost More

A standard adjustable fixture throws a pool of light that spills onto the wall around a painting. A framing projector shapes the beam precisely to the canvas edges, so the artwork appears lit from within and the wall stays dark.

The effect is unmistakable in person and it is the standard in galleries. It costs more per piece and requires precise aiming during installation, which is why it is worth doing on the pieces that deserve it rather than everywhere.

Common Questions

Will lighting damage my art?
Not with correctly specified LEDs — no UV, minimal heat. Damage comes from daylight and older halogen fixtures.

Can it be added to a finished room?
Yes, though ceiling work and repair are involved. Picture lights and track are lower-impact alternatives.

What if I rearrange the collection?
Adjustable fixtures can be re-aimed, and we will come back and re-aim them when you rehang.
